As part of the new alliance between Checker Cab Productions and 8 Fine Art Gallery, an opening reception will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at the gallery for painter and mixed-media artist Pam Toll and her most recent works. The reception will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., while normal gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment.

Toll has been exhibiting since 1994. Her accolades include a solo exhibitions in Istanbul, Turkey, and Struga, Macedonia, amongst many other global locations.

“When painting, I am inclined toward narrative fed by real and imagined stories,” Toll revealed in a press release this week. “Everything I know and am converges when I paint. Driven by memory, intention and intuition, I am thinking all over the place. Fragments swim in a kind of chaos and are plucked out and juxtaposed. Working in a circular way, I add and subtract characters, story lines, dreams, memories and secret languages constantly maneuvering a tightrope between manipulation and surrender.”

The show will also feature works from Charles Robertson, Ralph Coats, Jonathan Summit, Michelle Connolly, Kim Kersterson Trone, D.H. Baker, John Sharkey, Barb Scalia and Mark Weber.
