The Brunswick Little Theatre delights audiences of all ages with Elf.

The Starstruck Performers present – ELF, THE MUSICAL, JR.  Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on November 30, December 1, 7, and 8, and 3 p.m. December 2 and 9 at Brunswick Little Theatre, 8068 River Road. Brunswick Little Theatre’s youth division, Stagestruck Players, will ring in the holiday season with “Elf the Musical, Jr.”, based on the 2003 hit movie starring Will Farrell. The story begins when Santa reveals to Buddy that he is not an Elf, but the son of a human named Walter Hobbs. With this information Buddy is sent from the North Pole to New York City to find his father. The musical showcases Buddy’s arrival in New York and his puzzling and humorous encounters navigating the city and his interactions with humans. Buddy is lovable, enthusiastic, and sweetly innocent. His story is one of joy, love, acceptance, the importance of family and hope.

Musical numbers range from introspective ballad to Broadway kick line. The cast features outstanding young performers with numerous stage credits. Paul Bertelsen is the designer, Bev Veenker is the choreographer, and Deborah Skillman is the director, assisted by Ryan Tewell. Buddy, a young orphan mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list, and his stepbrother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

This modern day holiday classic is sure to make everyone a young performer and embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
