Communities in Schools’ Masquerade Ball and 15th Annual Benefit Gala

There is still time to purchase your tickets to the 15th Annual Communities In Schools of Brunswick County (CIS) Benefit Gala. CIS together with our Platform Sponsor, Cygnus Technologies, is pleased to announce An Evening of Elegance Masquerade Ball and 15th Annual CIS Benefit Gala for Children.
This year’s event will be held on October 27, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Sea Trail Resort and Conference Center in Sunset Beach. The evening will be hosted by Jon Evans, WECT News Anchor, and includes a decadent tasting of gourmet foods provided by Brunswick County’s finest chefs, a Live Auction, 50/50 raffle, and entertainment by the Blackwater Rhythm and Blues Band from Clarkton, North Carolina. The band’s Gala performance is sponsored by Gene and Rebecca Steadman and will provide one of the best live band experiences on the Carolina coast.

This is CIS’s biggest fundraiser of the year to raise support for our programs in Brunswick County. Sponsorship opportunities are still available to the black-tie-optional CIS Benefit Gala and individual tickets can be purchased for $125 per person. CIS of Brunswick County’s Evening of Elegance Masquerade Ball will celebrate the community coming together to support and empower student success.
This is the community’s opportunity to donate and support CIS programming. CIS currently provides an Action for Success program in five middle schools by incorporating Success Coaches, community volunteers and club and business partnerships to support student achievement. CIS supports Brunswick County students through tutors, mentors, Teen and Peer Court programs, school/business partnerships, academic scholarships and parenting edu- cation, with a major focus on dropout prevention services.
Founded in 1995, it is CIS of Brunswick County’s mission to “surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.” The efforts of CIS making a difference in the lives of students and families are well documented. In the 2015-2016 school year, organization efforts resulted in more than 3,500 students receiving services including academic tutoring, social enrichment, and intervention services that reach far beyond the classroom.
