May is the month that North Carolinians really embrace their summer wardrobes. While March and April can be finicky, from chilly days to temperatures that dip down in the night, May is the warm precursor to summer fun. Thus, men break out their khaki shorts and Hawaiian shirts, while women dust off their sundresses. Finally, feeling the warmth of the sun on our shoulders is a bliss that cannot be denied!

So, we gathered six local stores and their stunning models at the gorgeous Southport Marina to showcase this summer’s smart wears. Erin and Corey Snapp, the husband-and-wife duo behind Snapp-Shot Photography, captured every detail from crocheted tank tops to sun hats and sandals—and even a hot cocktail dress!
