Songwriters in Full Swing!
The 2017 3rd Annual S2F Hits Southport Porches and Brings Back Community, One Song at a Time!
Louisa Branscomb and her team of relentless volunteers, musical guests and amazing sonwriters promise another incredible festival for Southport this Summer. The Songwriter’s Festival celebrates diversity, story-telling, encouraing young people and I know the line up this year plans to delight all ages. They hit the local porches again this year, June 15 – 18.
I’ve never met a more passionate and driven person than Louisa Branscomb! She is focused and passionate about her mission.
ScreenDoor Songwriter Alliance is the underlying non-profit that organizes the Songwriter’s Festival. It’s mission is…”to create intimate listening venues for songwriters, create musical projects that build community, and create educational programs in high risk populations such as foster kids and seniors. “
Southport once again is the perfect location for her to carry out this goal. It offers the small town community, with an interest in the arts and spacious green areas for outdoor concerts and plent of front porches to host those intimate venues.
Southport also is the home of some super talented musicians and songwriters as well.
“Our mission is to create intimate listening venues for songwriters, create musical projects that build community, and create educational programs in high risk populations such as foster kids and seniors. “
The Southport Songwriter Festival (S2f) is a featured event of the ScreenDoor Songwriter Alliance (S2a) a non-profit (501c3) whose mission is to create ways to use songwriting to bridge the differences between people and build community, and to support songwriters and songwriting as art and profession. We celebrate local, regional, and national songwriters and original music by providing educational workshops and events for songwriters, and to promote the arts, businesses, and amenities of the unique coastal village of Southport, NC.
