Veteran Relief Fund Bike Ride
The Boiling Spring Lakes Special Events Committee will host the “Hitting the Road for Our Veterans Spring Bike Run, kicking off from the Boiling Spring Lakes Community Center at 1 Leeds Road on Saturday, March 14.
The proceeds raised from this event will go to the Boiling Spring Lakes VFW Post 10400 Post Relief Fund, which aids veterans and veterans’ children and spouses in time of need, supports the VFW National Home for Children and similar facilities, and supports patriotism through historical and educational programs.
The Hitting the Road for Our Veterans Spring Bike Run will start and end at the Community Center, with stops at the Exxon Scotchman and Beach House Harley Davidson in Shallotte, as well as the Hardees at the intersection of 17/211 and the Olde Brunswick Store in Boiling Spring Lakes.
Registration begins at 9 am with kickstands up at 10 am. An appreciation lunch will be waiting for the riders’ upon their return to the Community Center. There will be prizes for the first and last place riders, a trophy for the club with the most riders, as well as 50/50 raffles and numerous door prizes and raffle items donated by area businesses. The cost to participate in this event is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger, with proceeds raised going to the Boiling Spring Lakes VFW Post 10400 Post Relief Fund.
