Brunswick Little Theatre brings Neil Simon’s “Plaza Suite” to the stage this month. The three-act play is set in Suite 719 of New York City’s Plaza Hotel, though each act has a different set of characters.

First up are Sam and Karen Nash, in Visitor From Mamaroneck, as they revisit their honeymoon in an attempt to rekindle their marriage. The plan backfires and the two argue about whether he is having an affair with his secretary. In the second act, Visitor from Hollywood, movie producer and known ladies man Jesse Kiplinger reconnects with old flame and suburban housewife Muriel Tate. Act Three, Visitor from Forest Hills, focuses on married couple Roy and Norma Hubley on their daughter Mimsey’s wedding day. Mimsey locks herself in the bathroom in a fit of nerves, and her parents must convince her to come out while guests are awaiting downstairs. Slapstick humor ensues. Are they successful? No spoilers here – tickets are on sale now.

Veteran actress Rasa Love takes on the role as director for this show, leading a cast of local actors in this classic Simon play, which was recently revived for Broadway featuring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Show times at Brunswick Little Theatre are 7:30 pm March 19-21 and March 26-28, and 3 pm on March 22 and 29. Tickets are $20/adults and $12/student with ID, and are available online at www.brunswicklittletheatre.com or at Rickey Evans Gallery in Southport. The theatre is located at 8068 River Road SE, Southport. BLT is a non-profit organization and has been putting on a variety of community theater productions for more than 35 years.
